Put simply, internet marketing is about getting potential customers to visit your landing page. There are two methods ways of getting people to visit your website, paid methods and free methods. Basically to get traffic you either have to pay for it or work for it. Because free marketing methods are not an example of easy internet marketing this article will focus on 4 of the most popular paid methods used online . Of course using paid methods will need money to begin with.

1) Pay-Per-Click

Probably the best known of the paid methods of internet marketing is pay-per-click or PPC. When an individual puts a query into one of the search engines two types of results are shown, free or organic listings and paid or sponsored listings . When a customer clicks on one of your paid links the customer is sent to a page of your choice and you are charged a sum of money by the search engine. As you have previously chosen which keywords will cause your ad to be displayed it is possible to get very targeted traffic. PPC is an easy marketing method because it only takes a short time to set up and you can start driving traffic straight away. A very big cautionary note here though, if you do not know what you are doing it is possible to lose large sums of money using PPC, and even experts at times run campaigns that cost more than they make.

I would recommend getting some good training before trying PPC or else use the second paid marketing method.

2) Outsourcing

Put simply outsourcing is employing someone else to do the work. Virtually any part of your internet marketing business can be outsourced and there are many people who have the skills required to do the work. In the above example it would be possible to employ someone to set up a PPC campaign for you. You can also employ people to do the work required for 'free' marketing methods such as article writing, setting up and running blogs, posting classified ads, running social networking sites etc. While you can get some very good deals outsourcing there are also dangers to avoid, as with PPC it is not something you should rush into without doing some research first .

3) Banner Advertising

Banner advertising is the process of placing your ads on other peoples websites for a fee. There are plenty of companies online that can make and place banner ads. Generally you will want to put ads on sites that are somehow related to what you are selling on your website as this results in much more targeted traffic. Although banner advertising is a method of easy internet marketing it is best to have a good understanding of the process first otherwise you can waste a lot of money.

4) Paid Classifieds

Classified advertising online is similar to classified advertising in an offline newspaper. Although there are several free classified directories online it is also possible to ads can also be placed in paid directories. Adverts have a link back to your website and so are a potential source of traffic. It is not as easy to get very targeted traffic from classified advertising as you only get to write a few lines on your ad which is placed in a wide category. As with the other methods it is important to learn what can give you the 'biggest bang for your buck' when it comes to classified advertising.

There are various other types of paid marketing methods online, and various variations on the methods mentioned above.

My advice would be to not use paid marketing methods when you first start out, even if you do drive traffic to your landing page there is still much you need to know about methods for increasing conversation rates, monetizing your sales funnel, using auto-responders etc. You also need to understand how to test your marketing methods so you are better able to decide where to spend your money.
When your business grows and you have developed a good overview of the whole process, using paid methods is certainly an option to be considered.

If you have plenty of money it is certainly possible to set up an internet marketing business without spending too much time on it, however if you do not, easy internet marketing is not really realistic.
